Fees

What psychiatry costs here, in plain numbers.

Fees at this practice are published, fixed, and the same at both doors: $350 for the 60-minute intake, $250 for each 30-minute follow-up, and insurance copays that typically land between $0 and $40 for in-network patients. You learn your exact number before your first visit, because coverage is verified before anyone books an intake.

One practice, two ways in: therapy and medication care at psych.us is the full practice, and medication management only at PsychMed Care is the dedicated prescribing door. Locations, insurance, fees and booking for both live on this site.

The price list

Three numbers cover almost everything.

New patient intake

$350 self-pay

One full hour with your clinician: your history, the treatments you have already tried, your current medications and records, and a plan the two of you shape before the hour ends.

Follow-up visit

$250 self-pay

Thirty minutes, every time, with the same clinician. Long enough to judge how treatment is actually working and adjust it carefully, instead of renewing whatever was written last time.

With insurance

$0 to $40 typical copay

In-network patients usually pay a copay in this range per visit instead of the self-pay rates. Your exact copay is confirmed before the first appointment, not discovered on a statement afterward.

The intake hour

What the $350 intake actually buys.

The first visit is the foundation everything else stands on, so it runs a full 60 minutes. Your clinician reviews your history, your prior medication trials and what they did, your records, and what you want care to accomplish. Testing and labs are discussed when they would change a decision, not ordered by default.

By the end of the hour there is a written direction: what treatment starts, what it is expected to do, when you will meet again, and what the follow-up rhythm looks like. That plan is the thing the $350 buys. A rushed intake that produces a prescription and no plan is cheaper everywhere else it is offered, and it costs more in the end.

Follow-ups

What the $250 follow-up covers.

Follow-ups run 30 minutes, on a rhythm set with your clinician, usually every few weeks at first and further apart as treatment settles. Each one reviews how the medication or the therapy is working, what has changed since the last visit, and whether the plan still fits. Adjustments are made in the visit, with the reasoning explained, not phoned in later.

Between visits, your messages through the patient portal and Spruce are part of the same care, and your chart, labs and medication history stay in one record your clinician reads. The follow-up fee is the same at both doors of the practice, because the follow-up itself is held to the same standard.

An example

A first month, priced two ways.

Say your first month holds an intake and one follow-up. Paying out of pocket, that is $350 plus $250: $600, known to the dollar before you start. With in-network insurance, the same month is two copays, typically somewhere between $0 and $40 each, and we confirm your exact copays during verification, before the intake is booked. Either way, the number arrives before the care does. If you would rather have the practice run your coverage first, use your coverage instead and start with the verification.

A few billing rules, kept short. Fees are identical at both doors, so choosing therapy, medication management, or both never changes the price list. Verification itself is part of getting started, not a separate service with its own charge. And if your coverage changes mid-treatment, tell the practice and the check is run again, so a new plan never turns into a surprise bill.
