Psychiatry in network with UnitedHealthcare and Optum.
UnitedHealthcare members usually meet their behavioral health benefits through Optum, and Solutions Psychiatry is in network with UnitedHealthcare and Optum for telehealth psychiatry and medication management. We verify your coverage and your copay before the first visit, so the numbers are settled before care begins. Most patients here pay between $0 and $40 a visit.
One practice, two ways in: therapy and medication care at psych.us is the full practice, and medication management only at PsychMed Care is the dedicated prescribing door. Locations, insurance, fees and booking for both live on this site.
Verification
How the check works for this plan.
UnitedHealthcare covers an enormous range of employers and plan designs, and two cards with the same logo can carry very different behavioral health terms. Verification here starts from your member ID and your plan documents, and checks the network your mental health benefits actually run through, which for many members is Optum.
The check confirms that coverage is active, that the practice is in network for your plan, whether a deductible applies to psychiatry visits, and the copay for the intake and for follow-ups. It is completed before your first visit is scheduled, and because both doors of this practice bill the same way, one check covers therapy, medication management, or the two together.
UnitedHealthcare plans also turn over constantly: employers renegotiate designs every year, and a plan that covered a visit one way in December can price it differently in January. If your plan renews or your employer switches designs, send the new card and the check runs again before your next visit. It takes the same few minutes as the first time, and it keeps the copay you plan around equal to the copay you are charged.
Costs
What you will pay.
Most UnitedHealthcare patients here pay a copay between $0 and $40 per visit. If your plan applies a deductible to psychiatry first, we tell you during verification what visits will cost until it is met. Either way, the figure you plan around is confirmed by us, in advance.
UnitedHealthcare members who come for prescribing only are covered the same way: medication management is psychiatry under your plan, verified identically, with the same $350 intake and $250 follow-up self-pay rates published for anyone who prefers not to use coverage.
Questions
Asked about this plan.
Does UnitedHealthcare cover telehealth psychiatry here?
For most UnitedHealthcare plans, yes. This practice is in network with UnitedHealthcare and Optum for video psychiatry across the 34 states and Washington DC it serves. Because plan designs vary widely, your exact plan is verified before your first visit, and you get the answer before the intake is booked.
Why does my UnitedHealthcare card mention Optum?
Optum is the company that administers behavioral health benefits for many UnitedHealthcare plans. If your plan works that way, your mental health coverage is checked against the Optum network during verification. From your side nothing changes: same booking, same clinician, same visit.
What will my UnitedHealthcare copay be?
Most UnitedHealthcare patients at this practice pay between $0 and $40 per visit. Your exact copay, and whether a deductible applies first, comes out of the verification check on your specific plan, and we confirm the number with you before your first appointment.
